Pope commemorates Nazi's Kristallnacht attack on Jewish 'big brothers'

Last weekend the 75th anniversary of Kristallnacht,  was marked around the world.  Kristallnacht is often called the “Night of Broken Glass”, referring to the shards of shattered glass that lined German streets from the windows of synagogues, homes, and Jewish-owned businesses plundered and destroyed during a series of coordinated attacks against Jewish throughout Nazi Germany and parts of Austria on 9-10 November 1938, carried out by SA paramilitary forces and non-Jewish civilians.  German authorities looked on without intervening.
