An unexpected phone call early on a Friday morning, inviting us to open our doors to a family in need. No time to ponder or dwell on it. A family in need of a safe place to rest, and somewhere they will know that there will be food and support.
We were delighted to share our home. Yes, it made demands, it turned our lives around and it needed time and energy, and we were ready to share what we had with them.
Sitting round the table, helping the children with their homework. Another trip to the supermarket because the milk and a few other things had run out. Building the confidence of a mother and her children, that's what we were happy to do.
